Note: Since Trehalose is an ingredient used for creation of SUCROST and Trehalose being a disaccharide, FSSAI does not consider Trehalose as Sugar free. It is a natural sugar found in different food sources. It becomes important to clarify that as per FSSAI guidelines, any product that has sugar no more than 0.5g per 100g/100ml of product, it can be claimed as "Sugar Free". Glycemic Index - SUCROST has GI range of 36 to 44 across different sweetness varients available, where Sugar has GI of 65.
Glycemic Load – It is the most practical way to apply the GI to dieting, and easily calculated by multiplying food’s GI in % with Net Carbs in given serving. GL tells how much serving is likely to increase the blood sugar levels. Most nutritional experts consider GL below 10 to be LOW and over 20 to be HIGH. Low GL foods are recommended for diabetic control & weight loss.
SUCROST offers a very low GL per serving and it is considered Diebetic friendly by many. It is however advisable to consult and get approval from FSSAI in India before making any Health benefit claims on product labels.
